Grammy-winning rapper and cultural trailblazer Megan Thee Stallion is set to take Broadway by storm this spring, stepping into a major role in the acclaimed hit musical Moulin Rouge! The Musical. The announcement marks a milestone in her career and Broadway history as she becomes the first female-identifying performer to portray the character of Zidler in any production of this beloved show.
Playing the charismatic impresario of the Moulin Rouge nightclub, Megan will appear in a strictly limited eight-week engagement at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre in New York City, with performances running from March 24 to May 17, 2026. Zidler — originally called Harold Zidler — has been a standout role in the stage adaptation of the Baz Luhrmann film, previously played by celebrated performers including Bob the Drag Queen and Boy George.
In sharing the news on social media, Megan described joining the Broadway cast as “an absolute honor,” noting that theatre presents a new creative challenge she’s excited to embrace. “Broadway demands a different level of discipline, preparation, and storytelling,” she said, adding that she can’t wait for her fans — known affectionately as “Hotties” — to see this evolution of her artistry.
